Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

The International Day of Environmental Knowledge traces its origins to 1992, when the historic Earth Summit took place in Rio de Janeiro. This UN Conference on Environment and Development became a milestone in global awareness of the importance of environmental education. It was after this gathering that key international environmental dates were established, launching a broad wave of eco-education efforts.

World leaders recognized that without environmental awareness, it is impossible to solve global environmental problems. Knowledge about nature is the first step toward its protection. Understanding ecological processes, respecting nature, and developing conscious attitudes toward resources β€” all of this begins in childhood through education, personal example, and direct experience.

Environmental education is not just about classroom lessons:
🌸 It’s every story about a Red Book plant species;
🌳 It’s excursions to parks and nature reserves;
πŸ¦‹ It’s the wonder of spotting a bird or a rare landscape;
πŸ’‘ It’s every fact that makes us pause and ask: “What can I do for nature?”

At Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, we see our mission not only in protecting nature but also in sharing its beauty and wisdom with people. We believe that small discoveries about the natural world inspire great actions in its defense.

We create interactive educational projects, photo galleries, host meetings, and share knowledge about rare species, landscapes, and ecosystems that require our protection. We want everyone to experience nature, feel its value, and be inspired to learn more.

Because we cannot protect what we do not know. And once we know it β€” we can no longer remain indifferent.

The International Day of Environmental Knowledge brings together all those who teach and learn, research and share their love of nature: teachers, environmental educators, scientists, park workers, ecologists, students, and simply curious individuals.

On this day, we sincerely thank everyone who promotes conscious attitudes toward nature, studies ecological processes, and spreads environmental knowledge β€” from textbooks and popular books to online platforms and social media channels!
