The Department of Nature Reserves of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine reminds that according to Article 39, Part 5 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Animal World,” a “silence season” is introduced across Ukraine from April 1 to June 15. This is a period when restrictions are imposed on activities that could disturb the breeding of wild animals.
However, due to martial law, and in accordance with amendments to current legislation, this provision is suspended for the duration of martial law until it is lifted or canceled. 🕊
Nevertheless, it is recommended to refrain from carrying out forest-shaping and forest health felling, as well as any other forestry-related activities that may disturb wildlife during their breeding season, through June 15 of the current year.
We urge everyone to respect the silence season, unless there is a specific social or defense-related need.
