Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

Every year on the third Saturday of April, Ukraine celebrates Environment Day — more than just a calendar date, it’s a reminder of our responsibility for the state of the nature around us.

This holiday was established in 1998 by a Presidential Decree as part of the international movement for a clean environment, ecological safety, and sustainable development. It aligns with many global initiatives, including the “Clean Up the World” campaign.

The main goal of the day is to foster ecological awareness, engage the public in nature conservation, greening efforts, territory cleanups, environmental education, and sustainable living.

At Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, Environment Day is not just about cleaning and organizing park areas. It also includes:
🌿 environmental education events with schoolchildren and students;
🦋 raising awareness about the park’s unique natural complexes;
🌍 promoting responsible attitudes toward nature among local communities and park visitors.

The Kuialnyk Estuary is a unique ecosystem combining saline waters, therapeutic muds, steppe vegetation, and rare animal species. Due to its openness and vulnerability, it is highly sensitive to changes — whether it’s construction, slope pollution, or shifts in water levels.

That’s why every action matters — from trash collection to a lecture on the brine shrimp Artemia, from shoreline cleanups to planting local plant species.

How can you get involved in important environmental protection efforts?
We invite everyone who cares to participate in the park’s conservation activities — together, we can do more! Your physical contribution, attention, and involvement help preserve the unique environment of the Kuialnyk Estuary.
