Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

Project Budget – 156,000 Swiss Francs

According to Marina Arkhirii, head of the Krasnosilska Village Council, the communities of the Kuialnyk Estuary agglomeration are getting closer to success with their cluster project “Chumak Way.” The winners will be selected by representatives of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed to make it to the finals with our project. Thanks to effective partnerships with the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, communities along the Velykyi Kuialnyk River, and civic organizations, we have successfully advanced to the next stage of grant review with our application – ‘Tourist and Creative Cluster “Chumak Way”: A Strategy to Boost the Economic, Cultural, and Recreational Potential of the Kuialnyk Agglomeration Communities,’ ” said M. Arkhirii.

The agglomeration of the health resort estuary proposed its project to the Swiss partners with a budget of 156,000 Swiss Francs, or approximately 7,188,000 UAH.

“We hope to restore the national park through joint efforts,” Arkhirii added.

The Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park is a protected area located in the Odesa and Berezivka districts of Odesa Oblast. It was established in January 2022. The park covers an area of 10,800.8867 hectares of state and municipal land. Of this, 3,490.6753 hectares are granted to the national park for permanent use, while 7,310.2114 hectares are included within its territory without withdrawing the land from current users. On both sides of the estuary lie the Krasnosilska and Usatove communities, and further upstream along the dried riverbed of the Velykyi Kuialnyk are settlements from three districts of Odesa Oblast.
