Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

During monitoring studies in the mouth section of the Kubanka River within the territory of Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, a marsh turtle (Emys orbicularis) was discovered. This species is sensitive to habitat degradation and is therefore considered an “indicator species” of environmental quality.

The presence of the marsh turtle in the park indicates favorable ecological conditions for the survival of this reptile, as well as an environment that supports the life and development of many other biological species.

Protecting such species is vital for maintaining biodiversity and the health of the park’s ecosystem. This is yet another confirmation that the Kuialnyk Estuary and surrounding areas are a valuable natural resource that require our protection and care.
