Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

This research will help develop measures to restore the ecosystem and preserve this unique natural area.

Scientists from the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park and the Institute of Marine Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are jointly conducting studies of the water and aquatic organisms within the park’s territory.

The park’s official page reported the news.

“To make informed decisions for the preservation of the Kuialnyk Estuary ecosystem, it is essential to understand the changes taking place in its environment. Ongoing monitoring of key water indicators allows us to assess the condition of the waterbody and determine the impact of various factors on the ecosystem,” the statement says.

The estuary’s living organisms, which respond sensitively to environmental changes, can serve as important indicators of its ecological health. One of the main goals is to identify the seasonal variations in salinity, which will help in designing ecosystem restoration measures and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Hydrological and hydrobiological monitoring will now be carried out regularly. This will provide a comprehensive picture of the ecosystem’s condition throughout various stages of its development.

In addition, data from previous years will be analyzed to allow for more accurate conclusions and effective steps toward the conservation of this unique natural territory.
