Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park
Park is one of the youngest protected natural areas in Ukraine. It was established by the Presidential Decree dated January 1, 2022, and its full administration began operating in September 2024. This natural site is part of Ukraine’s Nature Reserve Fund and is protected as a national heritage. A special regime for protection, restoration, and use of natural resources has been established for the Park, highlighting its importance for ecosystem conservation.
The Park has legal entity status, which grants it independence in its operations. It operates on a self-sustaining budget and conducts financial transactions through accounts with the State Treasury Service of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine manages and coordinates the Park’s activities. Thanks to state support, the Park carries out an important mission to preserve natural and cultural heritage for future generations.
Park management
We believe managing natural areas is not just a job but a true art of harmony between people and nature! Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park was established by the President of Ukraine on January 1, 2022, and its administration began work in September 2024. We have been entrusted with the honorable and extremely important mission to preserve, restore, and develop this unique and invaluable territory so that its natural beauty can be enjoyed by future generations. The administration of Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park ensures that every corner of this unique area is protected, preserved, and accessible to everyone who wants to experience its beauty.
Our management approach focuses on caring for every detail. We organize the territory so that its natural wealth remains untouched while people can enjoy nature without causing harm. Through functional zoning, we create special areas for different activities—from scientific research to peaceful recreation.
Every day, our team works to ensure the park’s nature feels protected. We patrol the area, monitor ecosystem health, and ensure rare plants and animals are safe. We pay special attention to species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine—true treasures of our nature that we strive to preserve.
We also collaborate with other institutions and local communities to address important issues together. All these tasks are handled in close cooperation with those who care about the future of the Kuialnyk Estuary.
Additionally, we actively work to make our park comfortable and interesting for visitors. Informational signs, guided tours, displays, and specially designed trails help guests better understand nature, learn to protect it, and fall in love with this unique corner of Ukraine.
We believe true nature management is not about control but care and cooperation. Together with nature, we are building a future where everyone can find harmony and feel connected with the world around them.
Managing natural areas is not just a job but the art of harmonious coexistence between people and nature. Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park was established by the President of Ukraine on January 1, 2022, and its administration began work in September 2024. We have a responsible mission—to preserve, restore, and develop this unique territory so that its natural beauty remains untouched for future generations.
Our key tasks
We patrol the park’s territory, monitor ecosystem health, track populations of rare species, and work to preserve the unique biodiversity. Special attention is given to species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and ecosystems that require restoration.
To protect nature and provide comfortable recreation, we organize the park’s territory based on functional zoning. Visitors can enjoy nature without harming it, while scientists conduct research in designated zones.
We create ecological trails, conduct guided tours, and install informational stands so visitors can better understand nature, learn to protect it, and fall in love with this unique region.
We cooperate with scientific institutions, NGOs, and local communities to address environmental challenges, develop sustainable tourism, and attract resources for park preservation.
Our philosophy
We believe that managing nature is not about control but care and interaction. Together with nature and people, we build a future where the Kuialnyk Estuary remains a source of health, inspiration, and harmony.
The park holds the status of a budget-funded, non-profit institution and performs several important functions:
Protection of rare and Red Book-listed plant and animal species
Restoration of degraded ecosystems: reforestation, rehabilitation of estuary shoreline, water purification, and soil quality improvement
Measures to reduce pollution of water, soil, and air. Monitoring human activities, preventing illegal dumpsites, and organizing clean-up efforts
Raising awareness among local residents and park visitors about the importance of nature conservation and involving the public in environmental campaigns
Hiking, nature observation, cycling, and organization of sports events
Specially designed trails for ecological walks and bird, flora, and fauna watching
Health and wellness: visitors can benefit from mud baths and inhalations that positively impact health
The park actively promotes ecological and educational tourism through informational stands and guided tours that introduce natural landmarks and promote ecological responsibility
Educational activities, lectures, and trainings for students and adults on nature conservation, sustainable development, and protection of water resources, flora, and fauna
Guided tours for tourists explaining the history and ecological importance of Kuialnytskyi Park, its natural environment, and ecosystem preservation
Publications, articles, brochures, and informational posters that promote the nature of Kuialnytskyi Park and its conservation efforts
Research monitoring water resources, soil, flora, and fauna conditions, identifying changes caused by climate change, human activities, or other factors
Studying rare and Red Book-listed species to develop conservation measures
Investigating how natural ecosystems function and identifying potential threats
Developing recommendations based on research for improving the environment, conserving natural resources, and sustainable territory development
The park’s activities aim to harmoniously combine nature protection, human recreation, and educational work. Here, everyone can find their place—whether to relax, learn something new, or contribute to preserving the surrounding world.
