Scientific and Technical Council

The Scientific and Technical Council of the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park was established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine”, the “Regulation on Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities of Nature and Biosphere Reserves and National Nature Parks”, and the Regulation on the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park.
It is a permanent collegial advisory body that addresses scientific and scientific-technical issues and participates in the management of the Park’s scientific, environmental education, recreational, and nature protection activities.

The Scientific and Technical Council considers a wide range of issues important for the nature reserve institution, including:

  1. Work plans and reports on the main areas of activity;
  2. Justifications for projects related to territory organization, forest management, and land management;
  3. Projects of quotas for the use of natural resources within the territory and objects of the nature reserve fund;
  4. Programs and action plans for restoration activities in areas with degraded natural complexes, especially restoration of the hydrological regime, conservation and recovery of rare and endangered habitats and plant communities, species of flora and fauna, historical and cultural values, control of invasive plant and animal species, and more.

Members of the Scientific and Technical Council typically include scientists, ecologists, employees of state institutions and local self-government bodies, and public figures with extensive experience in nature conservation.

The Scientific and Technical Council of the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park includes representatives of:

  • I.I. Mechnikov Odesa National University

  • Institute of Marine Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

  • Ukrainian Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

  • Odesa Regional (Military) State Administration

  • Odesa District Council

  • Public organizations

  • and others.
