Joint Research Between National Park Staff

In early May 2025, Zoia Bondarenko, a researcher from the Slobozhanskyi National Nature Park, visited the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park. Together with our scientists, she explored various sections of the Kuialnytskyi Estuary’s natural complexes to conduct joint field research.

The territory of the Kuialnytskyi NNP is critically important for the conservation of rare reptile species. These include the Sarmatian ratsnake, the Caspian whipsnake, and the European green lizard, all of which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.

This research was conducted as part of a formal cooperation agreement between the Kuialnytskyi and Slobozhanskyi National Parks, aimed at fostering the exchange of expertise and advancing scientific and conservation activities within protected areas.

All data collected will be included in the Kuialnytskyi NNP “Chronicles of Nature,” which serves as a vital tool for documenting and analyzing information necessary for developing future environmental protection measures.
