Educational programs: the path to a mindful attitude toward nature

At the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, we firmly believe that environmental awareness begins with education. That is why specialists from the Research Department and the Environmental Education Department develop thematic educational programs designed to foster environmental awareness among people of all ages.

Why are they created? educational programs

Educational programs are structured plans comprising lessons, activities, and teaching materials that explore relevant environmental topics through the lens of the local natural environment.

Their goal:

  • make environmental knowledge accessible, engaging, and interesting;
  • promote the development of a responsible attitude toward nature;
  • to deepen understanding of the value of the natural heritage of the Kuialnyk Estuary;
  • to demonstrate how individual actions can affect the environment.

How they are created programs

Each program is developed by the park’s specialists, taking into account:

  • age-related characteristics of the target audience (schoolchildren, college students, teachers, the community);
  • the educational needs and skill levels of the participants;
  • the region’s pressing environmental challenges;
  • a combination of a scientific approach and interactive methods.

The program includes:

  • theoretical modules (lectures, presentations);
  • hands-on activities (field trips, field observations, games, scavenger hunts);
  • creative tasks (drawing, creating informational materials, videos);
  • environmental initiatives (cleanup campaigns, landscaping, and community outreach).

How they are used educational programs

The park’s educational programs are offered in various formats:

  • in schools and high schools—as supplementary lessons or entire themed weeks;
  • in higher education institutions—as practical classes, student projects, or part of an internship;
  • at the park’s visitor center—during guided tours, interactive activities, and meetings;
  • during field trips—right in the park, where you can observe nature in action;
  • at public events—such as environmental days, campaigns, and forums.

Our educational programs are about more than just knowledge. They are a step toward living in harmony with nature, fostering a love for our homeland, and inspiring a desire to protect it.
