Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park

The park is one of the newest nature conservation areas in Ukraine. It was established by a decree of the President of Ukraine dated January 1, 2022, and the park’s full-fledged administration began operations in September 2024. This natural area is part of Ukraine’s nature reserve fund and is protected as a national treasure. A special regime for the protection, restoration, and use of natural resources has been established for the Park, underscoring its importance for ecosystem conservation.

The Park has the status of a legal entity, which ensures its independence in carrying out its activities. It operates on a self-sustaining basis and conducts financial transactions through accounts at a branch of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine oversees and coordinates the Park’s activities. Thanks to state support, the Park fulfills an important mission of preserving natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

Kuialnyk — the source of health and harmony

For many people, the estuary is not only a picturesque landscape but also a source of health. Kuialnyk is unique for its healing properties known throughout the world; it is a second Dead Sea where people from all over the planet can restore their health. It is one of the most unique resorts on the Odessa coast, with enormous potential for sustainable development and attracting tourists. Known for its healing properties, the estuary has been used for treatment and wellness since ancient times. Therapeutic mud, mineral water, and brine are a true treasure that nature offers to strengthen health and restore vitality.

The estuary is not just about physical health. Its serene beauty, picturesque landscapes, and incredible sunsets allow you to find inner balance and feel harmony with the world around you. It is a place where everyone can escape the noise of the city, recharge their energy, and experience the true magic of nature.

Management natural areas

This is not just a job, but the art of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. The Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park was established by the President of Ukraine on January 1, 2022, and its administration began operations in September 2024. We have been entrusted with a responsible mission—to preserve, restore, and develop this unique territory so that its natural beauty remains intact for future generations.

[ Task ]

Our key task

Nature Conservation and Preservation

We patrol the park, monitor ecosystems and rare species, especially those in need of protection and restoration.

Functional zoning

The park is divided into zones so that visitors can enjoy the park without harming nature, and researchers can conduct their studies.

Environmental Education and Tourism

We organize tours, guided walks, and informational displays to help visitors better understand and protect the region’s natural environment.

Cooperation and Development

We work with scientists, communities, and organizations to address environmental challenges, promote sustainable tourism, and preserve the park.

[ Our Approach ]

The guiding philosophy our journey

We firmly believe that managing nature is not about control, but about care and cooperation. Together with nature and people, we are building a future in which the Kuialnyk Estuary remains a source of health, inspiration, and harmony.

The park is a state-funded, non-profit institution and fulfills a number of important functions.

Environmental activities

  • Conservation of rare plant and animal species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine
  • Measures to restore degraded ecosystems: landscaping, restoration of the estuary’s coastal areas, water purification, and soil quality improvement
  • Measures to reduce water, soil, and air pollution. Monitoring human activities, preventing the formation of illegal dumps, and organizing the cleanup of contaminated areas
  • Initiatives to raise awareness among local residents and park visitors about the importance of nature conservation, as well as to encourage public participation in environmental protection activities

Recreational activities

  • Hiking, nature observation, cycling, and organizing sporting events. Specially designated trails have been established for nature walks and for observing birds, flora, and fauna
  • Treatment and wellness. Visitors can enjoy mud baths and inhalations, which have a positive effect on health
  • The park is actively promoting eco-tourism and educational tourism. The installation of informational signs and the organization of guided tours for visitors will not only help them explore the natural attractions but also help promote the concept of environmental responsibility

Cultural and Educational activities

  • Educational events, lectures, and workshops for schoolchildren, students, and adults that address issues related to nature conservation, sustainable development, and the protection of water resources, flora, and fauna
  • Guided tours are offered for tourists, during which they learn about the history and ecological significance of the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park, the unique features of its natural environment, and the importance of preserving ecosystems
  • Materials promoting the natural environment of the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park are published, and articles, brochures, and informational posters are produced to raise awareness about nature conservation efforts

Research activities

  • Scientific research aimed at monitoring the condition of water resources, soils, flora, and fauna. This makes it possible to identify changes in the park’s ecosystem that may be caused by climate change, human activity, or other factors
  • The status of various species of flora and fauna is being studied, particularly those that are rare and listed in Ukraine’s Red Book, which enables the development of conservation measures
  • Scientists are conducting research to understand how natural ecosystems function in the park and to identify potential threats to their survival
  • Based on the results of scientific research, recommendations are developed to improve the state of the environment, conserve natural resources, and promote sustainable development in the region

The park's activities combine nature conservation, recreation, and education.

There’s something for everyone here—whether you’re looking to relax, learn something new, or contribute to preserving the environment.
